SAARC - COUNCIL FOR ARBITRATION AND REGIONAL CO-OPERATION FACILITIES (SCARF) - PAKISTAN CHAPTER

The settlement of commercial disputes through such litigation may be lengthy, expensive and open to all. To avoid this disputes are sometimes referred to "ARBITRATION". Arbitration is a procedure by which instead of referring a dispute to a Court of Law, the parties concerned agree to go through a private tribunal. The references are heard by arbitrator(s) in a judicial manner and ordinarily to an extent rules of Court procedure and evidence are observed.

SCARF (SAARC Council for Arbitration and Regional Co-operation Facilities) belongs to SAARC (South Asian Association for Regional Association) and provides a platform for their members to share ideas, problems, and issues in their respective countries.

This book is written on arbitration. Its process, advantages, privacy, speed, expenses, risks and facilities are provided by SCARF in SAARC - Pakistan.

The author, Prof. Habib -ur Rahman has mentioned the SCARF Setup, mechanism, objectives, administration, cost, conciliation and arbitration procedural law in this book briefly. He has also written about arbitration in different major countries like USA, England, China etc.

This book is highly beneficial to lawyers, law students etc who want to gain knowledge about arbitration in different countries, especially within SAARC countries.
